Use Google Authorship to Rank Higher on Search Engines

Have you read articles about ranking higher on search engines by joining Google +?   Many social media enthusiast state that using Google + will increase website creditability.  If all you’ve done thus far is open an account and posted a blog, you’re off to a great start.  Now take the next step and use Google’s Authorship tag. By adding Google Authorship to your site you’ll become “more authentic”. The tool allows you to link your content with your Google + profile. Essentially, it permits Google to connect their search engine with their social tool, Google +.  Here’s an example of how Google Authorship and Google+ search results appear, along with instructions on how to do it.

How to link Google Authorship to Google +

  1. Go to plus.google.com/authorship, and sign-up with your email address. Your email domain must match the website.  For example, website: www.paradigm-il.com and email: m.sneor@paradigm-il.com
  2. Check your email and click verify to complete the set up.
  3. Wait 24 hours and use structured data testing tool to see what author data Google can extract from your page

If you’ve optimized your keywords, created valuable blog content, synced your Google + page with Google’s Authorship tool, you should notice a lift in your organic rankings in a few weeks.  To know for sure, compare last month’s analytics with next month’s results to see the true effects.
